  • ADAP - Legacy software from 1973 for linear static and dynamic analysis of arch dam-foundation systems. Source code in FORTRAN and related reports can be downloaded from the earthquake engineering online archive maintained by University of California Berkeley.ADAP: Static and Dynamic Analysis of Arch DamsClough, Ray W.; Raphael, Jerome M.; Mojtahedi, SoheilDepartment of Civil Engineering, University of California, Berkeley, 1973,ADAP is a finite element program capable of performing linear static and dynamic analysis of arbitrary arch dam-foundation systems. Most of the logical features and many of the subroutines of the computer program SAP are utilized in this program. Special features primarily associated with preparation of input data are incorporated to make it more suitable for arch dam analysis. Three different element types are included in the program; these are considered to be the most suitable in this application. The program is organized in such as way that, if desired, new elements can be included easily. A finite element mesh is automatically generated from a minimum amount of input information. In each problem any one of the following types of analysis can be requested: (1) static analysis - the program is capable of handling an arbitrary combination of gravity, water pressure, and temperature loading conditions, and concentrated loads at any node; (2) evaluation of natural frequencies and mode shapes - if these are not available for input they are automatically evaluated as part of (3) or (4); (3) response history analysis - using a step-by-step integration scheme assuming the accelerations to vary linearly within each time step; and (4) response spectrum analysis - which results in estimated maximum values for displacements and stresses.

  • Beamax - Application for graphically creating, editing and analysing continuous beams.
  • Cbeam (MCAL SOFT) - Analysis of statically indeterminate beams.
  • Cold-Formed Steel BeamDesign - Cold-Formed Steel BeamDesign is a software for the design of flexural members of Cold-Formed Steel, following AISI 2001 and 1996/99 Specifications.

The principal aim is to analyze a simple or continuous beam (2 to 4 equal spans) and to determine the permitted load (Uniform or Concentrated Load allowed) carrying capacity, while varying the span length (L). Also you can compare one section and two different steels, or two sections with the same steel.

Fourteen different sections are allowed (C, U, Z, ZU, L, LU, H, BR, BS, IC, CC, IU, T, and TU), with selected Steels (14 ASTM Referenced Standards Steels are provided as a guide). In the current (January 2009) version we add tables for the following manufacturers: Dietrich, Marino-Ware and SSMA.
  • Delta Beam - Delta Beam is a continuous beam structural analysis software. It includes a full complement of features that makes it suitable for any job from a small beam to very complex beam structures. Both students and professional engineers can use it with ease and confidence. Delta Beam has been developed to make the definition, solution and modification of 2D continuous beam problem data as fast and easy as possible. Analysis, up to and including calculation of maximum deflections and shear and moment, may be done on continuous beams constructed of any material or combination of materials. A complete steel sections database is included with the software.
  • Dr. Beam Pro - Direct manipulation beam analysis environment.
  • FBEAM - Composite beam design program. Enables to evaluate fire resistance.
  • IDX Beam Analysis Program - The IDX Beam Analysis Tool provides complete analysis of deflection and stresses on any beam. Its intuitive interface enables immediate productivity, while more advanced features allow great flexibility in problem definition. As a plug-in, currently available for AutoCAD, the Beam Analysis Tool facilitates best practices by saving the beam information and all analysis directly in the drawing file, alongside the beam. This is useful for collaboration, and also saves a great deal of time when plans change and analyses need to be updated. Further collaboration is supported by options to save beam analyses as XML files, or to publish configuration details and all diagrams as HTML files to post on an intranet or extranet.
  • LGBEAMER - LGBeamer is program for analyzing single and multi-span beams using cold-formed stud, joist, track, z-shaped and HSS sections.
  • LTBeam - LTBeam is a software which deals with the elastic 'Lateral Torsional Buckling of Beams' under bending action about their major axis.

LTBeam is a software to be used for the Design of Steel Structures. It has been developed by CTICM (Centre Technique Industriel de la Construction Mtallique - France) in the frame of an european research project partially funded by the European Community for Steel and Coal (ECSC Project N 7210-PR183 : 'Lateral torsional buckling of steel and composite beams' - 1999-2002).

The lateral torsional buckling phenomenon (LTB) appears when the bending action reaches a critical level. It generates suddenly and simultaneously a lateral bending deformation and a longitudinal torsional deformation along the unrestrained length of beam.

LTBeam calculates the elastic critical moment Mcr and provides useful information about the buckling mode for various loading and restraint conditions. Mcr is generally needed in regulatory codes for resistance checks of structural members to lateral torsional buckling.

LTBeam applies to straight single- or multi-span beams, under simple bending about their strong axis, with doubly - or mono-symmetrical cross-sections about this plane of bending. Lateral restraints against LTB may be discrete or continuous, full or elastic, and may concern the lateral displacement, the torsional rotation, the lateral flexural rotation and the warping. As the loading, lateral restraints may be applied at a distance above or beneath the shear centre of the cross-sections.

LTBeam is rather designed to deal with steel beams, but others materials can be used, on condition that appropriate properties be input.
  • Matbeam - Matbeam is a complete beam analysis tool featuring analysis capabilities for static and moving live loads on single and multi-span bridges.
  • MicroBEAM - Calculation of shear and force moment diagrams (including numerical output in tabular format) for simple and continuous beams. Design of reinforced concrete sections.
  • StruCalc for Windows - StruCalc is intuitive structural analysis and design program that enables to quickly size beams, columns, and footings.
